The Usos react to record-breaking WWE Tag Team Title reign.

The run that everyone involved in The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn) has been on has been unbelievable, as Reigns is in the middle of a long reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. In contrast, The Usos have been the long-term Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Last Friday on SmackDown, The Usos faced off against The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) in a WWE Tag Team Championship match where they successfully retained the titles, which came along with a history-making accomplishment for Jimmy and Jey as well.

The Usos became the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in history today (November 14). The Usos reacted to the accomplishment by writing, “officially the best team in WWE EVER!!!!”

The New Day had previously held the record since December 2016 when their own incredible title reign ended, but The Usos have now held the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for 484 days, taking them ahead of that team.

The Usos became the undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in May 2022 after defeating then-Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro in a winner take all match. The team is closing in on setting a record in WWE by becoming the first team to hold the tag team titles for a 500-day reign.

WrestleMania 38: New Match Added To Sunday Card.

Advertisements

WWE has added Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods vs. Ridge Holland and Sheamus to tonight’s WrestleMania card. The match was cut from WrestleMania Saturday because some of the matches went long.

The match was scheduled to go on second to last in the show but they ended up going straight to the KO Show/Steve Austin match.

Here is the card for WrestleMania Sunday:

WWE Champion vs. Universal Champion Winner Take All Championship Unification Match
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Universal Champion Roman Reigns

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Fatal 4-Way Match
Queen Zelina & Carmella (c) vs. Sasha Banks & Naomi vs. Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Natalya & Shayna Baszler

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship – Triple Threat Match
RK-Bro (Champions) vs. The Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy

Edge vs. AJ Styles

Anything Goes Match
Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn

Bobby Lashley vs. Omos

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods vs. Ridge Holland and Sheamus

See which WWE match got pulled out of WrestleMania.

The New Day vs. Sheamus and Ridge Holland was cut out of the show because they were running long and they wanted to be off the air by midnight. They weren’t going to risk tiring the crowd out and having to shave time off of the Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kevin Owens match so it was safer to pull the tag match.

No word on when the match will take place but there is definitely room on the Kickoff show that airs at 6 pm eastern.

Kofi Kingston gave this classy response about his match being cut: “To be in the business for an extended duration of time is to experience the highest of highs as well as lowest of lows. Yes, it hurts; but we take it and we use it to propel us forward.”

As you can see in the tweet below from Xavier Woods, the match was still on the books just after 11 pm.

Xavier Woods reacts to WWE changing his name again.

WWE SmackDown star Xavier Woods took to Twitter to react to his name change.

As noted earlier, WWE changed his name on their roster page and he is no longer being referred to as King Woods. No word on why it was decided to drop the name only a few months after he won the King of the Ring tournament but Woods doesn’t seem bothered by the change.

He tweeted, “Call me King Woods, Call me Xavier Woods, Call me Austin Creed. May as well call me King Midas since everything I touch turns to gold 😉 and I look great in that picture, almost as good as in real life”

Woods and Kofi Kingston will wrestle Sheamus and Ridge Holland at WrestleMania Sunday in Dallas.

WWE has made a change to King Wood’s name.

Plans always change in WWE and the latest example of that appears to be with King Woods.

Last October, when Xavier Woods won the King of the Ring tournament, he was renamed King Woods and he played up a British accent, similar to what WWE has done in the past with some of the previous winners including Zelina Vega (now Queen Zelina) and Booker T (known at the time as King Booker).

Woods returned to SmackDown last week after being cleared from an injury that he suffered in early January. Woods and Kofi Kingston set up their WrestleMania match against Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

Ahead of the match this weekend, the decision was made to drop the “King” moniker from his name and he is now back to being referred to as Xavier Woods.

It’s unclear what led to the name change but it could be as simple as Vince McMahon simply deciding that he didn’t like it or that he was better under his old name and persona.
