Singer, Dbanj ‘cleared’ of rape charges

Seyitan Babatayo, who accused popular musician, Oladapo Oyebanjo widely known as D’Banj, of rape has written a letter to the Nigerian police withdrawing her petition.

This development occurred after the police insisted that it has been unable to make a case of rape against the musician,

In a letter addressed to the Inspector-General of Police via her lawyer, Olamide Omileye, said she was withdrawing from the case for personal reasons.

The letter read in part, “We hereby officially notify you of our client’s intention to withdraw and discontinue her petition against Mr. Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’Banj for personal reasons. Our client further humbly applies that the investigation and all other action that is currently being carried out by the police with respect to the statement.”

Responding to the letter, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin), Umar Sanda, said” investigation had discontinued due to lack of evidence.”

    The letter posted on Twitter by blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, read in part, “In view of the foregoing facts, investigation was discontinued as no substantial evidence to prove the allegation of rape against the suspect.”

    American rapper Kanye West has claimed that he has been trying to divorce wife, Kim Kardashian for almost two YEARS after she met Meek Mill at a hotel.

    Rema speak as Apple Music feature his face on billboard

    Mavin talented artiste, Rema in a post on social media has sent an appreciation message to Apple Music for making use of his picture to represent Black Music Month.

    This comes after the Iron Man crooner was recently celebrated by Apple Music as they put up a billboard of the singer in Los Angeles.

    Rema took to Twitter to share a short video of his photo on the billboard.

    The singer also said that seeing his face up there was a dream come true as he thanked Apple Music.

    Keedron Bryant – The 12-year-old whose song protesting police killings of African Americans in the US went viral has been signed by Warner Records.

    In a post shared on his Instagram page, the young black boy, Keedron Bryant, has been signned by Warner Records on Thursday, his producer revealed.

    Keedron Bryant went popular after he shared his song I Just Wanna Live, which is about his fears growing up as a black man in America on social media. The full song is now set tol be released on Friday, which is the Juneteenth holiday marking the end of slavery in the US.

    Bryant first posted the acapella gospel song on his Instagram account on May 26, the day after another African American, George Floyd, was killed by a white policeman in the city of Minneapolis. Floyd’s death — one in a long line of black people killed by white law enforcement — ignited mass Black Lives Matter protests against police brutality and a national reckoning on racism in America, both in the past and today.

    “Every day I’m being hunted as prey. My people don’t want no trouble,” Bryant sings.

    The original post has been liked well over three million times, and drawn praise from Barack Obama to Katy Perry and many others around the world.

    Top Story: Singer D’Banj in trouble!

    Iconic Nigerian singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name, DBanj, has been accused of rape by Nigerian model Benjamin Ese as the campaign against rape rages on.

    Identified on Instagram as @action_ben, the guy stated that he was forced to break silence after he saw D’banj campaigning against rape on social media.

    The singer’s post didn’t sit well with Action Ben who slammed D’banj with a claim of how he raped his friend in a hotel.

    He wrote: “Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’banj you are a full-time rapist. This is not clout at all. Good morning everyone, I know this will not get to anywhere because he’s so many people’s favourite celebrity. My friend decided not to talk because of the stigma, and we her friends choose to keep quiet too to respect her decision. Not until you made a post and said “justice for our girls”. The girl you raped also needs justice. If it is a lie, pick the case up and arrest me. I’m a Christian but let us go to a shrine Ogun to swear so the evil perpetrator dies immediately because our God is too merciful.

    “You offered her 200k to sleep with you, she said she did not want then leave her, but your useless goat did not. I have never called out a celebrity but this is the truth. Most people are posting abut rape as a celeb if you don’t post you will be tagged the rapist.     “My friend got a call from Linda who at that time was dating banks friend, telling my friend the amount of money D’banj was ready to spend on her if he agrees, but my friend turned down the offer because she wasn’t interested. Dbanj drove all the way from Eko hotel where he was lodged and came down to glee hotel in Victoria island at midnight 2:40 am and collected the spare key from the receptionist, obviously, it’s D’banj a fucking celebrity rapist, he would be given a spare key, got into my friend’s room and forcefully threatened he would walk her out of the room naked, Kept his fingers in her Vagina and repeatedly raped her.

    “My friend was crying and D’banj turned deaf ears how wicked and heartless!!! And immediately he did that Dbanj left. So you still have the right to post on Rape it’s been two years my friend has been traumatized over this. And as at yesterday, she threatened to commit suicide, she’s so livid and mad seeing a rapist like you post this. Take this post down and stop clouting, stop being a preacher of Rape cos you’re a rapist. I know I don’t have the power to push this but all Rapist will die a miserable death! #wearetired”.

    Media personality, Toke Makinwa has weighed in on the messy situation between Cynthia Morgan and Northside Entertainment boss, Jude Okoye.

    In a recent Instagram Live interview, Cynthia Morgan disclosed how she went into depression after things went south for her when she signed a contract with Jude Okoye’s Northside Entertainment.

    May D also took to Twitter to share his unfavorable experience while working with the Okoye brothers.

    A number of people have now given their opinion on the matter. Some took the side of the record label boss Jude Okoye, others took the side of the artists.

    Toke took to Twitter to give her opinion on the matter.

    She wrote: “There has to be more ways to settle this Talent/record label/management relationships, nobody wins when there is no resolve, monies are still owed, talent is still wasting, there is a bigger picture that pride/ego rubs everybody of when we refuse to see the big picture.”

    She added: “If Talent wants to leave or no longer serves purpose to a label, remove feelings and look at ways that they can go, become bigger and pay your debt. Nobody makes anyone, there was talent there, that’s why you chose to invest, let them go and focus on how they pay your investment.”

    Migos rapper, Quavo has achieved an academic milestone.

    The 29-year-old American rapper, who reportedly dropped out of school months before his graduation to pursue his music career full time, announced on Friday that he’s among the Class Of 2020 that have just graduated from Berkmar High School in the Atlanta suburb of Lilburn, Georgia.

    He was reportedly a record-setting quarterback at Berkmar High School.

    Singer and actress Seyi Shay has dumped her ‘hacked’ Instagram account on which was posted her raunchy photographs on Thursday.

    She alerted her over one million followers that the account had been hacked and that she could no longer access it.

    Later Thursday, she opened another account, still using her old name, “Iamseyishay’ but with an additional ‘y’, now Iamseyishayy

    Media personality Shade Ladipo has accused singer Seyi Shay of lying that her Instagram account was hacked.

    This is coming after 2 semi-nude photos of Seyi Shay surfaced on her Instagram page, without a caption.

    Shortly after the post, Seyi Shay’s management claimed her account was hacked, a friend of the singer identified as Latasha also took to social media to claim that the singer’s IG account was hacked.

    Media personality Shade has now reacted, saying if she wants to show off some skin, she should do it with her chest and stand by it.

    Nigerian Singer, Deborah Joshua, popularly known as Seyi Shay, has announced that her Instagram account has been hacked and revealing pictures of her, leaked.

    The 34-year-old made this known on Twitter on Thursday after the pictures had casued quite a stir on social media.

    “I cannot tell why/who is doing this, but my IG account has been compromised & my privacy is being violated. Seems to be a deliberate attack as the photos circulating are not from a recent exchange…,” she wrote.

    Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has sent a hilarious birthday message to legendary musician Lagbaja who clock 60 today.

    The true identity of Bisade Ologunde popularly known as Lagbaja has really never been known since the inception of his musical career in early 90s.

    The singer has managed to keep his identity hidden by always wearing a mask, with many still yet to understand the reason behind it.

    American rapper, Marshall Bruce Mathers, who is popularly known as Eminem, celebrated one of his albums “Relapse”.

    The rapper took to Twitter to mark the 11th anniversary of the hit album.

    “For old time’s sake #Relapse11,” he wrote on Twitter while sharing a clip.

    Relapse debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and 608,000 copies were sold in its first week.

    It also reached number one in twelve other countries.

    Famous Fuji legend is dead. [Nigeria]

    This is sad! Nigerian fuji music legend, Alhaji Wasiu Ajani Tekoye aka Pure Water, has died, aged 52.

    The musician died in the early hours of today, Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his residence in Moshalashi, Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State.

    He will be buried according to Islamic rites at the family house by 10a.m on Friday.

    May his soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.
