Dragon Lee recently announced he was signed with WWE after Lee and Dralistico’s match at AAA Noche De Campeones.
As previously reported, he is slated to start training at the Performance Center in January and work in NXT. This is after WWE wasn’t interested in him until they realized he was working on AEW television (Watch Video Here) without a contract, so they invited him to a tryout, and signed him to an NXT deal.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW also made him an offer to sign a full-time deal with them.
Regarding his contract with WWE, it’s more than he was making in Mexico, but “the WWE offer was above the (Watch Video Here) standard NXT-level money, but not main roster money.”
WWE contracts have a confidentiality clause in that the talent and their representatives are not allowed to reveal the dollar amount. Should he get called up to (Watch Video Here) the main roster then the bottom number for the main roster is $250,000 per year.
“The belief is that he would be the highest-paid NXT wrestler now that Mandy Rose is no longer working with the brand. It’s a three-year deal and does call for pay increases with each year, but the hope and certainly the feeling he was given is he would have a main roster contract and be brought up in 2024.” (Watch Video Here)
Meltzer also reported why Lee signed a full-time deal with WWE instead of AEW. It’s a big signing for WWE as they hope he can be their next big Hispanic star, in addition to WWE hoping to hire other “standout” talent in early 2023.
A new match type is reportedly coming soon to the WWE NXT brand, which explains the recent trademark filed by the company for the term “Iron Survivor Challenge.” The company filed for it under entertainment services.
Fightful Select reports that the working plan for the Iron Survivor Challenge trademark is a new match type to be used in NXT. As of this writing, there are no other details on the match type, but the report stated the Iron Survivor Challenge might have some “scramble” element.
Also, other “unique” elements have been pitched for the gimmick bout.

This could have something to do with WWE Hall of Famer & Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels appearing on tonight’s NXT, where he is slated to issue a statement about the NXT Deadline Premium Live Event, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 10.
Former Superstar says he was set to portray Kane’s other brother on WWE television This report noted that sources heavily implied that Michaels’ announcement would be related to the Iron Survivor Challenge, but that was not confirmed.

“The first time I ever saw him he called me a Golden Retriever. I was like holy sh*t there’s Shawn Michaels, the Heartbreak Kid. I never really got to spend that much time building a relationship with him. I was always so nervous to talk to him. I wish I would have gotten the opportunity to have a better relationship with him for sure.”
“My first initial thought was, I was in shock. It was 100% out of the left field. I was upset too. I felt the relationships I had there that were being built were good. I was shocked, and it was a big blow to my confidence. I was thinking Chase U main roster, but I was shocked and hurt. It showed me that there is a lot more to this business that maybe I do have to learn about. In some way shape or form, you are always in control. I look at this as a great opportunity. I feel that I’m made for this. Physically, and mentally. The one thing I always wanted was to cut an in-ring promo. I love being in front of crowds. I never feel more comfortable than being in front of them. That’s what will make me successful in this business. I love the Brodies and they’re loving me back. I want to love everyone for who they are as well.”
His future:
“I have a whole new world now. I’m connected with a bunch of great people. Matt Riddle, Liv Morgan, Karrion Kross, and Shinsuke Nakamura, those guys are my rolling partners. There are so many more too who are looking out for me. People know I got it and they don’t want to see me fail. I’m looking forward to Japan, and UK opportunities as well. I got to spend 10 days in the UK with Trent Seven. Talking to Parker Boudreaux, see what’s going on in his neck of the woods. MLW too with EJ “The Judge” talking to him as well. I hope to continue evolving as a wrestler and finding my style.”
Booker also opened up about if he felt like he should have done more in WWE, compared Bodhi Hayward to Brady Booker, discusses his time in NXT, signing with WWE, and much more. You can read the complete interview at this link.

Bodhi Hayward’s release from WWE comes as somewhat of a surprise because he was involved in a storyline with Chase University.
Per Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, there is apparently more to the story behind Hayward’s release
“All I will say, because I don’t know all of the details, but there was stuff going on,” Alvarez said. “I guess the easiest way to describe it is apparently Bodhi was a handful. So it wasn’t just ‘well, let’s get rid of this guy’ or whatever. But I did hear from multiple people that it wasn’t just ‘we’re gonna cut some folks, we’re gonna cut this person who was right in the middle of a storyline.’ There was more to Bodhi’s story. That’s really all I can say because I don’t know what the more is. But you know, you got a bunch of guys and whatever and they’re in Florida and there’s a loop and god only knows what can happen.”
Alvarez said that he presumed that the other releases were because they were not improving. He also stated that yesterday he heard that there were six releases so it’s possible that one name has not gotten out yet.
In addition to Bodhi Hayward, the following names were released today:
– Sloane Jacobs. The 19-year-old previously wrestled as The Notorious Mimi on the independent scene before signing with NXT in March of 2022. She had worked on some NXT live events and in the Women’s Breakout Tournament.
– Eric Yan, who last wrestled in September was also let go. She first appeared on NXT shows late last year.
– Damaris Griffin was signed less than a year ago and appeared on NXT Level Up.
– Ru Feng signed with WWE NXT last year and had been working as an enhancement talent.

TAt the NXT Halloween Havoc event, WWE showed the T-Bar mask being burned to signify that he is going back to a previous name.
Dominik Dijakovic became T-BAR as part of the Retribution stable created by Vince McMahon. The Retribution storyline fell apart and wrestlers like T-BAR have floundered on the main roster. It looks like the current regime is attempting to give Dijakovic a fresh coat of paint.
During the Halloween Havoc post-show media call, Shawn Michaels gave credit to NXT writer Johnny Russo for coming up with the idea to burn the mask and he did not deny that the vignette is to signal the end of the T-BAR character.
The change for T-BAR/Dijakovic had been rumored for some time because PWInsider reported in August that there was talk about repackaging him
T-BAR has deleted most of his tweets. One of the deleted tweets that was posted back in August said, “I sense something, a presence I’ve not felt since…”

At least two more wrestlers could be on their way back to WWE.
Fightful Select reports that WWE is interested in bringing back Dexter Lumis (Samuel Shaw) and higher-ups were talking about reaching out to him last week. Lumis was released last April as part of company budget cuts and it was believed that he was one of the names that Vince McMahon did not see as someone worthy of being on the main roster.
Times have changed and now with Shawn Michaels running NXT and Triple H as Head of Creative, Lumis may get another shot with the company. Lumis was regularly featured on the NXT brand before he was let go. Since his release, he has worked only a small number of independent shows.
Another name that was mentioned as possibly returning is Johnny Gargano and Shawn Michaels has reportedly been in contact with him.
You can expect to see more of the old NXT influence on the product now with Triple H running things. As seen last week on WWE TV, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai are some of the names that are back and on the main roster and there are more names expected back soon.
WWE’s NXT account tweeted that there was a backstage altercation on Friday between two of their wrestlers.
Per the NXT account, the altercation was between Von Wagner and Solo Skioa and fans can tune in to see the footage this Tuesday night on the USA Network.
For anyone wondering why this was taped on Friday night, it probably has nothing to do with both men being called up to the main roster and more to do with SmackDown taking place in Orlando at the Amway Arena, just minutes from the Performance Center.
But on a related note, Sikoa has been rumored to be getting called up to the main roster soon so that could happen after he’s done with his feud with Wagner.
Sikoa and Wagner wrestled this past Tuesday on WWE NXT and they were both counted out. The fight continued to the backstage area and outside of the Performance Center and things ended with Sikoa tossing Mr. Stone in a trash can. Scroll down to see the video.
Zachary Wentz, formerly known as Nash Carter, is back on the independent scene as he will be appearing at the Circle 6/No Peace Underground joint show on May 21st in Orlando, Florida.
This marks his first booking on the independent scene since he was released by WWE last month. The release was after he was accused of domestic violence by his wife Kimber Lee and a photo of Wentz supposedly dressed as Hitler was shared on social media.
As previously reported, WWE released Carter because of the Hitler photo and not the allegations as the company didn’t believe Lee’s accusations were credible.
After finding success in Impact Wrestling, he alongside Wes Lee joined WWE in 2020 where they were pushed as a top tag team known as MSK. They were two-time NXT Tag Team Champions. At the time of his release, they were in the middle of their second reign.
WWE NXT star Kushida has left the company. The news broke when he was moved to the alumni section on WWE.com sometime today.
The former New Japan Pro Wrestling star signed with WWE in 2019 but he was never pushed past the mid or lower part of the card. Aside from a brief run as the NXT Cruiserweight Champion, the company never seemed to be fully behind him and the writing was on the wall for him once Triple H exited the brand.
Kushida is a former ROH World Television Champion and he won multiple titles in NJPW before he joined WWE.

Adam Cole appeared on the Fightful Podcast to discuss his thoughts on Triple H’s in-ring retirement, and how he feels about CM Punk.
Cole was asked to give his thoughts on Triple H’s condition and not being able to wrestle again:
“I’ve made it very apparent and very clear for a very long time, both during my time in NXT and post NXT, that I think the world of Triple H. I learned so much from him,” Cole said.
“He was a huge, huge mentor to me. So to get that news was really disheartening because I know how much professional wrestling means to a guy like Hunter. However, at the same time, his health is the most important thing and his family is the most important thing. So I’m glad that he’s able to take care of himself and make sure he needs to do what he has to do to get on that track. ”
“So truth be told, with the way stuff has been going lately, I’m just happy he’s okay. But yeah, I mean, everything that he’s given to the wrestling industry and the wrestling business will never be forgotten, whether it be his in ring career, or the countless amount of people he’s influenced within NXT and the countless people he’s taught within NXT.”
“So I really do, I love Triple H. I admire the hell out of him, and I’m glad he’s alright,” he said.
Cole said he would like to work with CM Punk:
“I’ve made it very clear that for me personally, he was one of the most impactful professional wrestlers as far as inspiration goes,” he said.
“I remember seeing him in Ring of Honor and again, watching his promos and going, ‘I really, really want to focus on getting good on the microphone because of listening to him talk.’”
“Then I thought, ‘Okay, he retired, it’s never going to happen.’ Now the fact that it’s a possibility, I mean, I can’t get it out of my head. I know that someday it has to happen.”
Former ROH Women’s Champion Rok-C made her debut tonight at the Level Up tapings that took place prior to tonight’s live NXT 2.0 broadcast.
Now going under the name Roxanne Perez, she defeated Sloane Jacobs in her first match with the company after signing last month.
Perez trained in Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion before getting her big break in ROH in 2021. She was released from her ROH contract last October as the company was about to undergo a major overhaul before the Final Battle pay-per-view.
She successfully defended her ROH Title at Final Battle against Willow Nightengale and then dropped it to Deonna Purrazzo during a January Impact Wrestling show.
WWE has started to call up some NXT stars such as Gunther, who was accompanied by the former Marcel Barthel, now known as Ludwig Kaiser, and Raquel Gonzalez, now known as Raquel Rodriguez. These three NXT stars made their SmackDown debuts on Friday’s show.
There is talk of more NXT stars being called up to the main roster including LA Knight. Fightful Select reports WWE has discussed bringing up Knight on Raw or SmackDown with one pitch made for Knight to work as a manager as is known to be one of the best talkers in NXT.
It’s unclear who he would manage should WWE go forward with this idea. WWE wanted to do the same thing with Adam Cole before he decided to not re-sign with the company and went to AEW.
After making a name for himself as Eli Drake in Impact Wrestling and the NWA, he signed with WWE last year where he found success and become a one-time Million Dollar Champion
WWE has filed for some more NXT 2.0 related trademarks.
The company filed for Thea Hail, Troy Donovan, and Channing Lauren on April 5th under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Here is the description:
“Mark For: trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
All three stars worked matches on Friday’s episode of NXT Level Up that was taped this past Tuesday. Lauren and Channing took on Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward in a tag team match while Hail wrestled Diamond Mine’s Ivy Nile.
Hail, Donovan, and Lauren were independent wrestlers before signing with WWE and worked matches on AEW Dark in the past. They were part of the group of recruits that reported to the Performance Center in March. Before WWE, Donovan went by the name Cole Karter, Lauren went by “Motherlover” Jake Tucker, and Hail went by Nikita Knight.
Another WWE star is getting a name change, as first reported by WrestleVotes.
WrestleVotes tweeted, “There’s a name change for a debuting superstar tonight on SmackDown that is probably the worst one yet. Like picked from a hat and blindfolded, that’s how they got here type stuff.”
WrestleVotes did not say who is debuting tonight but it could be an NXT star. For what it’s worth, it was reported this week that Gunther and Marcel Barthel would be moving on to the main roster and Fabian Aichner will likely stay in NXT.
There have also been rumors about Raquel Gonzalez moving up to the main roster so it’s possible that she might be getting a name change.
WWE made a lot of big changes to the NXT brand last September when they rebranded it as NXT 2.0 with the idea to use younger stars instead of veterans.
They’ve also changed the presentation of the show from the stage to graphics and storylines. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast reported last month that the USA Network is happy with the current ratings of NXT 2.0.
Austin Theory recently spoke with Wrestling Inc about the criticism that the company has received regarding the changes as there is a lot more focus on character development instead of in-ring work.
“So, I know there’s a lot of hate, and there’s also some love for that,” said Theory. “I just think people don’t understand when change is happening, and they don’t really like that. But once they get used to that, they find comfort and enjoy.”
Theory said that there is more character development and he sees a lot of rising stars in positions that he thinks the brand needs.
“There’s always going to be some that don’t like it [criticism], But at the end of the day it’s a product, it’s a business, and what’s going to make the best superstars for the future. I think that’s something that’s heavily engaged on character development. To me, NXT 2.0 is great.”
Thus far in 2021, NXT has been averaging between 551,000 and 685,000 viewers on USA Network.
Last night when Bron Breakker defeated Dolph Ziggler to win back his NXT Championship, that was apparently a late decision because the original plans called for Ziggler to have a longer title reign.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said people close to NXT told him that Ziggler would be champion for “a awhile” and Alvarez point out that an NXT commercial aired last night during Raw that featured Ziggler as the champion.
Alvarez said, “[On Saturday afternoon] I heard from someone who is close to folks in NXT and they know a lot about what’s going on there. They said, ‘you know, it looks like Ziggler is going to be champion for a while. This was Saturday. So then Monday at about 11:30 or so, I heard actually from several people that we’re gonna have an NXT title change on the show tonight. One person said ‘NXT title change tonight’ and the other person specified that it was gonna be Bron Breakker beating Dolph Ziggler to win the title back on Raw…”
Alvarez continued, “I watched [Raw] and they do Bron Breakker and Dolph Ziggler and Bron Breakker defeats Dolph Ziggler and he wins the NXT Championship, he’s the new champion. He’s won the belt. So I continue watching the show and everything like that. Then, about 45 minutes later, they have a commercial for NXT. And the commercial for NXT, the whole commercial is about how Dolph Ziggler beat Bron Breakker and we’re gonna get the fallout on NXT, which oddly enough they said, ‘NXT tonight at 9:00.’ It was tomorrow’s commercial that they aired on the wrong day and the commercial that they had, had been created with the idea that Ziggler was still the champion.”
Alvarez said he theorizes that they didn’t put the belt on Breakker on Saturday because they had plans to move him up to the main roster and then plans changed and that is when they decided to put the belt back on him
The first and only match thus far has been announced for tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network.
Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) will get a rematch for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles against Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai on the show.
This comes after Gonzalez & Kai won the titles from Toxic Attraction at NXT Stand & Deliver during the pre-show portion from the American Airlines Center this past Saturday.
Toxic Attraction had been the champions for 158 days as they won them last October by coming out victorious in Three-way Scareway to Hell Ladder match also involving the team of Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta.
WWE will have the fallout from Stand & Deliver as well as Bron Breakker beating Dolph Ziggler on Monday’s Raw to become the new NXT Champion.
Impact Wrestling’s Kimber Lee (formerly Abbey Laith in WWE) tweeted on Monday night about alleged domestic abuse from her husband WWE NXT star Nash Carter from the MSK tag team. Carter currently holds the NXT Tag Team Titles with his partner Wes Lee.
Lee posted photos with her face bruised and she said, “Hey @WWENXT this is my face after your tag champ @NashCarterWWE got wasted and hit me so hard he split my lip open. He told me I’m a wrestler so I’m always marked up. I’ve hid this for a year and even forgave him. But I can’t hide it anymore.”
She followed up with another tweet: “You all wanted the proof. There it is. I’m sorry I backed out but he was telling me lies all weekend to get me to not say anything.”
You all wanted the proof. There it is. I’m sorry I backed out but he was telling me lies all weekend to get me to not say anything.
Fightful is reporting that former WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa has been pitched to join Edge’s new stable.
Edge began forming his stable last night at WrestleMania when Damian Priest helped him defeat AJ Styles. Apparently, there are plans for at least two more people to join them in the very near future.
Ciampa has been making appearances on the main roster in recent weeks and his match at NXT Stand & Deliver was presented to fans as his goodbye to the brand.
In 2019, Ciampa talked about not wanting to move up to Raw or SmackDown. During an interview on Lilian Garcia’s podcast, he said the following: Now, it’s become a thing where I’ve legitimately vocalized to them like, ‘If I have to go to Raw or SmackDown, then I’m gonna retire and I would love to produce or coach or be a part of it. There’s no way I taking on that load and going, ‘Yeah, you know what? I’ll just have a six-month run and then call it quits.’ I just won’t do it, It’s just not worth it to me.”
Ciampa also talked about the number of bumps left on his bump card and how the NXT schedule is beneficial to him. If Ciampa is part of a stable and he is able to work a reduced schedule, the stable could be used to feature him on TV while not having to wrestle all the time.
Styles was the first main roster star to go to WWE NXT 2.0 to have a brief run with one of the top wrestlers on the developmental brand. Since then several main roster stars have gone to NXT such as The Miz, Rey & Dominik Mysterio, and Dolph Ziggler.
The reported idea is for Raw stars to go to NXT to help boost the ratings of the show since both Raw and NXT are on the USA Network. Styles feuded with Grayson Waller and beat the prospect in their one and only match.
Styles noted in an interview with Inside The Ropes that it was his idea to go to NXT to help prepare the younger stars.
“So that whole thing, it was kind of my idea. I wanted to make sure the guys and girls who are in NXT would be prepared to come up to WWE and do well. It’s not good for anybody if they get here on SmackDown or Raw, and that’s not what we wanted. We have to prepare them to give them when they get up here, that’s what we want. That’s why we brought you up. That’s what we wanted to see. We have to do what’s right by them, and that means sometimes bringing down talent that is on Raw or SmackDown to show them exactly the way that we want to see them perform on the main roster.”
When asked if he was impressed by his trip down to NXT, Styles said, “absolutely. I’m so impressed with how hungry they are down in NXT. I love it, man, and it inspired me, just seeing how hungry those performers are down there, and I want to be a part of helping that group of talent get to the next level. To me, nothing better than seeing someone do well. If you had a hand in helping them get there, that’s icing on the cake.”

The company filed for “Sloane Jacobs” on March 28 under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Here is the description:
“G & S: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
This is the new ring name for Amelia Herr, who signed with the company last month. The 18-year-old is from West Chester, Pa and worked on the independents as The Notorious Mimi. Shee also trained in Taekwondo for two years. This past Tuesday night on NXT, she lost to Nikkita Lyons.
It looks like former WWE NXT star Marina Shafir has signed with AEW. Her signing has not been confirmed but it appears that way after a video package aired of her on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
The video package focused on the matches she’s had on AEW Dark and it was noted that she has dominated and she will be a problem for the women’s roster.
Shafir was released by WWE in June of 2021. She started working AEW shows at the Dark tapings last September and has only lost to Kris Statlander.
WWE NXT star Harland, real name Parker Boudreaux, is now a married man as he tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Isabella Guerrero this past Saturday.
The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day. Harland wrote the following in the caption of a post on Twitter that included some photos from the wedding: “MY RIDE OR DIE. MY EVERYTHING. I LOVE YOU ANGEL. MR AND MRS BOUDREAUX.”
Harland made his WWE in-ring debut last December where he beat Guru Raaj on NXT TV. Since that time, he has scored wins over the likes of Andre Chase, Edris Enofe & Mali Blade, Javier Bernal, Jacket Time, and Draco Anthony.
The prospect nicknamed “The Next Big Thing” because of comparisons to Brock Lesnar has been paired with Joe Gacy are currently feuding with Draco Anthony and Xyon Quinn
Johnny Gargano appeared on this week’s “The Sessions with Renee Paquette” to discuss leaving NXT and whether or not it was due to the change to NXT 2.0.
Johnny Gargano said he is happy in the way he left NXT:
“I felt like I was in a good place. I felt this way for a while to where I felt like I accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish in NXT,” Gargano said.
“It’s kind of one of those things where I said I’m betting on myself because it is kind of a scary thing to have a new baby on the way and decide I’m going to turn down this new contract, that’s a good contract, a safe contract, and you’re going to get money every single week coming in to kind of go off to do your own thing. But I felt really good, I felt complete, and I felt that way for a long time.”
“But being able to end that story kind of on my own terms, like have that match, and then have like that promo segment where I was kind of able to kind of say goodbye, which a lot of people don’t get a chance to do nowadays, like I was very lucky to be given that chance,” he said.
“It’s so funny because so many people thought I re-signed, obviously because no one gets this treatment to where they’re able to do their match, and then come out the next night on live television, which is wild. It’s live television. I could have literally said anything I wanted to. They let me say anything I wanted.”
“I sat down with one of the writers, but all the words that came out were my own. I wrote my own thing. I wanted to thank people and I wanted to do things like that because I feel like I just have such a good relationship and rapport with everyone in NXT, and everyone in WWE in general.”

Gargano said he did not leave NXT because of the change to 2.0:
“I know people said, like, ‘Oh, Johnny left because NXT changed.’ No, I always had it in my mind that I wasn’t leaving to go to any particular place,” he opened up about.
“I kind of just felt like I needed to go because I felt like if you watch a TV show, or if you watch anything in general, if you see the same character, and obviously I changed character, I turned heel, I did funny stuff, I did things like that here and there. But if you see the same person on TV for five years, six years, it gets stale.”
“I believe that being off TV and being away makes people miss you. I think people need to have a chance to miss you, and if they don’t, then they don’t really care in general. I felt like for the last year that I was going to have fun this past year, and I’m gonna do whatever I can to try to set this place up for the future. That’s why me and Candice focused a lot on Indie Hartwell. We wanted to give Indie a good spot. We wanted to give Austin Theory a good spot. We wanted to help out as much as possible.”
“I want to try and give guys opportunities that they wouldn’t have gotten. To have a long match with Kushida at TakeOver, I was really proud that I was able to give him that spotlight as well. It was really important for me to try to help as many people as possible before I left to kind of set that place up for a good spot for the future.”
Dolph Ziggler is one of the latest main roster stars to go to WWE NXT as a way to help boost the ratings of the show since Monday Night Raw also airs on the USA Network.
Before Ziggler, WWE had AJ Styles on the program for a feud with Grayson Waller. Since Ziggler arrived, The Miz, Robert Roode, Rey & Dominik Mysterio have also appeared.
Unlike the other names mentioned, Ziggler was given the NXT Champion. While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Dolph Ziggler talked about winning the NXT Championship, which he noted that he was going to win the title at all.
“It’s pretty wild. I don’t want to do in-character stuff, this is a really cool moment, I’m slightly richer. I’m just kidding, it’s awesome. I had no idea I was going to be NXT Champion. I didn’t plan on it. All I wanted to do was check out some new talent scout amount, see who’s got what it takes to go to the next level at some point, maybe report back, say, hey, Raw, hey, SmackDown, hey Vince McMahon, I see something and these guys, these gals, they could do something big in the future. Let me get my hands on them and next thing you know, two weeks later, I’m the NXT Champion.”
Ziggler will defend the NXT Title against Bron Breakker at NXT Stand & Deliver next Saturday. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below (quotes can be found at the 39:39 mark:
