Nigerian singer and Mavin artiste, Boy Spyce has shared some of his personal experience in the music industry.

The singer discussed the most difficult time in his life since starting out in music.

According to Boy Spyce, some people look down on him because he began his music career by releasing freestyles on Instagram and other social media sites.

In his word;

“No it doesn’t piss me off. I knew it was going to happen. I knew there are some people who are gonna like find it hard to accept, but I mean, if you don’t face challenges then are you really doing anything?”

Opening up about if he feels pressure from his other colleagues, the Mavin signee said:

“Uhmmm, it’s not bad pressure. It’s pressure of like yeah I can do more if this person is doing more, I can do more too. You know, they don’t have ten heads. It’s pressure that pushes you to do better.
I am in competition with everybody and it is just the truth. So I was thinking one day, I’m like why is that everybody likes to say “I’m not in a competition, I’m not in a competition
If you’re not really in a competition, then why is there a top 100 Apple Music chart, why are there awards then? I feel like everybody is in a competition but we are too scared to admit it. And this is the way I see it right?
I am in a competition with everybody. It’s just like I’m in a classroom right now, I want to be the first in the class doesn’t mean that if you miss class one day and you want me to explain a Maths topic to you, I won’t. I will teach you

COVID-19: Scientists project 450,000 cases in Africa by Mid May.

Africa could record 450,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases by the second week of May, putting the continent’s fragile health systems under severe test.

A team of scientists from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine made the prediction based on a mathematical modelling projection, as the number of Covid-19 positive Africans more than doubled in one week to Friday’s figure of more than 6,500 cases.

There are currently 224 confirmed infections in Nigeria, with five deaths; 192 people are still sick and at least 30 have recovered. The scientists also project that each East African country will report at least 10,000 cases by May 10, with Uganda being the last to hit this number.

With 50 out of 56 African countries now reporting Covid-19 cases, the scientists say only strict interventions such as social distancing could make their forecasts wrong.

“We are only projecting reported cases, which are a fraction of actual cases. Ramping up testing, while better for the overall response and the ultimate number of actual cases, would mean seeing more cases sooner,” said Carl Pearson the principal investigator of a paper published on March 25.
