With 20 days to the 2023 elections, there are insinuations that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar might win the poll.

Deji Adeyanju, a socio-political activist, said the disorganisation within the APC might lead to Atikuโ€™s victory.

Lately, there have been claims of crisis within APC following remarks by the partyโ€™s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu had accused some people in President Muhammadu Buhariโ€™s government of attempting to sabotage his ambition.

In some of his campaign rallies, Tinubu said the naira policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and fuel scarcity was aimed at sabotaging his campaign.

But, despite his remarks, Buhari had vowed to campaign for Tinubu while urging Nigerians to vote for him.

He explained that Obiโ€™s failure to form an alliance with his counterpart from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the North would work against him.

โ€œPeter Obi is clearly not even in the race. He is only running against PDP Atiku and the other opposition parties and you will see this in about 2 weeks after the election.

โ€œIf he had gotten Kwankwaso the joker and some major northern alliances, the case would have been different,โ€ he added.

Popular socio-political activist, Deji Adeyanju, has condemned the action of the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Management Committee, PCC, Dino Melaye, for mocking the health condition of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Melaye had made jokes about the health condition of Tinubu in the form of a mock dance during a campaign rally in Delta State on Tuesday.

Reacting to the development, Adeyanju, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday morning, described Melayeโ€™s action as โ€˜bad and unacceptableโ€™.

Everyone has abandoned me โ€“ Deji Adeyanju cries out.

A social media influencer, Deji Adeyanju, has lamented that he has been abandoned by everyone who claims to be activists like him.

Adeyanju said in different posts on Friday that he felt lonely being an activist this time because others in the struggle were now running after politicians for the 2023 elections.

He stated that even Omoyele Sowore has abandoned him to pursue his presidential ambition, expressing optimism that they will all return after the election.

โ€œIt feels so lonely to be an activist right now in Nigeria because everyone has abandoned me in the struggle to follow politicians, but I am optimistic they will return after the elections next month.

โ€œI feel so alone in the struggle, even Sowore is running for president; others are working for politicians and hailing them. I canโ€™t wait for the elections to be over next month so that all Nigerian activists can come back to the trenches and leave politicians alone,โ€ he said

2023: Nnamdi Kanuโ€™s release will boost APC chances in Southeast – Deji Adeyanju.

An Abuja-based activist, Deji Adeyanju has said the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, would boost the All Progressives Congress, APC, chances in the 2023 presidential elections.

Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu is the APC presidential candidate.

Noble Reporters Media learnt that there have been clamours for the Federal Government to release Kanu following a judgement of the Court of Appeal. However, the court later granted a stay of the order.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja had declared as illegal and unlawful the abduction of Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria and quashed the entire terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

It ruled that the Federal Government breached all local and international laws in Kanuโ€™s extraordinary rendition to Nigeria.

But the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, had vowed that Kanu would not be released, stressing that the Federal Government would pursue other charges against Kanu.

Prior to his arrest, the IPOB leader had vowed to ensure no election was held in the Southeast until the government approved a referendum that would lead to the creation of Biafra.

With his arrest in June 2021 and continued incarceration, some Nigerians believe that releasing Kanu would jeopardise the successful conduct of the 2023 elections in the Southeast.

Amid the clamour for Kanuโ€™s release, some people are of the opinion that APC would get a few votes in the Southeast.

These claims are anchored on the agitations that the Southeast should be allowed to produce Nigeriaโ€™s president in 2023.

Of all the top political parties, only the Labour Party, LP, stands a better chance of getting more votes in the Southeast because its presidential candidate, Peter Obi is from the region.

However, Adeyanju said releasing Kanu would boost APCโ€™s chances of getting votes in the Southeast.

Adeyanju noted that politicians can use Kanuโ€™s release as a political strategy in the Southeast.

Speaking with DAILY POST, he said: โ€œIt will boost APCโ€™s chances, it will boost the morale of their supporters and that would be to the advantage of the ruling party and the PDP. The only party it will affect is the labour Party who are expecting to get some significant votes from the Southeast.

โ€œIf the Federal Government decides to release Nnamdi Kanu, it will increase the ruling partyโ€™s chances of getting a favourable outcome in the election.

โ€œIt can be used by politicians as a campaign strategy in the Southeast, so they can have something to go home and campaign with.

โ€œLike I have said, keeping Kanu does not add any value to the Federal Government; what value are they going to derive from keeping a man that the court has granted bail and said even his arrest is unconstitutional?

โ€œYou canโ€™t build something on nothing in law, and you canโ€™t give what you donโ€™t have. The government canโ€™t in any way prove the guilt of Kanu because they first have to return him back to where he was taken in Kenya. That is a small thing for any court to rule, because itโ€™s extraordinary rendition, which is state capture and abduction of citizens โ€“ this is prohibited under international law, and there is no easy way out for the government.

A social media influencer, Deji Adeyanju, has likened the Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obiโ€™s ambition to comedy skits.

Adeyanju, in a post on his verified Facebook page on Monday, said the only way to stop Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is for Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to step down for each other.

โ€œThe only way to stop APC is either for Obi to step down for Atiku or Atiku steps down for Obi,โ€ Adeyanju said.

However, he admitted that โ€œit is politically unreasonable to ask Atiku to step down for Obi because PDP is too strong politically with so many governors.โ€

He said that as of today, โ€œObi is only doing comedy skits,โ€ saying the Labour Party has no structure across the nation.

Naira Redesign: Deji Adeyanju speak on those being targeted in 2023.

Popular socio-political activist, Deji Adeyanju, on Tuesday, said the redesigning of the naira by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, was targeted at the opposition political parties.

Adeyanju said the CBN policy makes it difficult for the opposition to move money around with the elections around the corner.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the Abuja-based activist, however, said the policy would boost the economy.

Asked if the new policy would reduce vote-buying during the 2023 elections, Adeyanju said: โ€œIt wonโ€™t. Politicians always have a way around these things.โ€

He also described those who stashed the naira away as heartless animals.

According to Adeyanju: โ€œHeartless animals refused to help the poor, but Emefiele has forced them to bring out all the money.

โ€œThe redesigning of the naira looks like itโ€™s targeted against opposition political parties because once money goes into the system, itโ€™s the government that determines how much you can get out of the system.

โ€œYes, itโ€™s a fantastic idea of boosting the economy, knowing that so many looters have physical cash in their hands, so we can now see how smart it is for CBN to have taken such initiative.โ€

He, however, cautioned against the rush to implement the new policy, which starts in December.

Adeyanju said CBN should wait till the 2023 elections are over before implementing the new policy.

โ€œI do not see the urgency and the spread right before the election. Itโ€™s even advisable for CBN to show goodwill by letting the policy take effect after the election, so itโ€™s not seen as a political thing.

โ€œThis will show transparency and that they are not targeting anyone, and they are not available to be used as a willing tool by the incumbent party against the opposition.

โ€œItโ€™s a good policy; however, the ideal thing is for the CBN to wait until after the elections to mop up and release the new notes,โ€ he added.

The CBN had set December 15, 2022, for the release of the redesigned naira notes.

CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele said N100, N200, N500, and N1000 notes would be redesigned and released.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says itโ€™s watching the residence of three State governors following the announcement by the apex bank.

Adeyanju said the political class would blame Obi if the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu wins in 2023.

He noted that the former Anambra State governor was not running for the presidency but against Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Deji Adeyanju blasts Buhari gov’t over terrorist’s ultimatum for N30mn.

Deji Adeyanju, a popular Abuja-based activist, has described the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government as weak and ineffective.

Adeyanju was reacting to the 14-day ultimatum issued by a terrorist kingpin in Zamfara State, Nasanda.

Nasanda had issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Zamfara State Government to pay him N30 million as compensation for the alleged killing of his wife and two relations.

The terrorist threatened to kill 300 people if his demand was not met.

Nasanda claimed that his bride, her uncle, and his aunt were killed by some vigilante men in the state.

Reacting to the development, the convener of Concerned Nigerians, lamented that โ€œterrorists can only have such audacity and courage in a country where there is no government at all or a very weak and ineffective one, which fits Buhariโ€™s regime.โ€

In a chat with Noble Reporters’ known Media, Adeyanju wrote: โ€œThese killing terrorists have seen that the country is a jungle without any form of active government from top to bottom to secure the lives of its citizens.โ€

He further lamented that if IPOB had made similar threats, the Federal Government would have sent battalions of armed soldiers after them wherever they are, killing innocent villagers in the process.

โ€œItโ€™s a disgrace that Buhariโ€™s government and its military that had the guts to open fire on innocent EndSARS protesters have lost those guts to go after terrorists,โ€ he said.

He also urged the government to immediately make sure that Nasanda and his gang are arrested for this single threat and all the terror attacks and killings in the state carried out by him and his gang.

The declaration to run for the 2023 presidency by top shots in Nigeria has stirred reactions online.

Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based socio-political activist, said the 2023 election has turned into a huge joke as everyone wants to run for presidency.

This is coming after Amaechi declared his interest to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Criticising those in third force, Adeyanju said he will not take any of them seriously until he sees their work at the grassroots level.

His tweet read, โ€œAlmost everyone now wants to run for president in Nigeria. They have turned the whole thing into a huge joke.

โ€œUntil I see real ongoing non-stop work at the grassroot, not taking any of such people seriously. The people making noise on social media about 3rd force are generally not serious. They are just interested in popularity contests. If I wanted to, I will also contest for president.โ€

Popular media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on the other hand wrote โ€œ Who isnโ€™t running for president?

Currently, six PDP topshots have declared to run for 2023 presidency. They are Atiku (ex-VP); Anyim Pius Anyim (ex-Senate President); Saraki (former Kwara Governor); Tambuwal (ex-House of Representatives Speaker); Mohammed (former FCT Minister) and Peter Obi.

While in the APC, Rotimi Amaechi, Dave Umahi, Yahaya Bello , Asiwaju Tinubu have declared intention to succeed Buhari in 2023

President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to sack all Service Chiefs.

Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based socio-political activist, urged Buhari to sack all Service Chiefs and security heads due to the prevailing oil theft in the Niger Delta region.

He lamented that Shell oil company is planning to shut down its operations in Bayelsa and Rivers State due to oil theft.

In a chat with Noble Reporters’ known Media, Adeyanju said Shell pumps over 200, 000 barrels of crude oil into pipelines but receives only 3,000 at its Bonny terminal.

He disclosed that most of the crude oil are stolen by illegal bunkering.

According to Adeyanju, Shell plans to dispose all its onshore assets in Nigeria.

He said: โ€œShell has shut down all land facilities in the Eastern Niger Delta (Bayelsa & Rivers) for about 6 weeks. And there is no plan to restart.

โ€œThey are pumping over 200,000 barrels of crude into the pipelines and receiving only 3,000 barrels at Bonny terminal. The rest are stolen along the way, illegal bunkering.

โ€œShell is just marking time, waiting to dispose all their onshore assets. Mr. President should sack all Service Chiefs & security heads aiding oil theft in the country.โ€

EndSARs: Court drop charges against Falz, Davido, Sam Adeyemi, others.

Okeke in his suit alleged that during the riot, properties were destroyed and the defendants who promoted the #EndSARS protests must be held responsible for it and also brought to justice.

A Federal High Court has stopped and drop the charges against Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre, Burna Boy, Davido, Falz, activist Deji Adeyanju and others over the #EndSARS protest.

NoRM gathered that the High Court ordered a Magistrate court to instantly stop proceedings and stay action against 50 persons who supported the #EndSARS protests, following a criminal accusation filed by lawyer Kenechukwu Okeke.

Justice Bello Kawu who delivered a judgement on the application filed by Activist Deji Adeyanju (one of the defendants) for a judicial review of the substantive matter before the magistrate, said;

โ€œAn order of this honourable court granting leave to the application to issue and serve on the defendant an application for judicial review against the proceedings/direct criminal complaint of Hon. Omolola Tolulope Akindele sitting at Chief Magistrate Court II, Wuse Zone 6 in the suit of Kenechukwu Okeke Vs Deji Adeyanju and 49 others in suit No. CR/49/2020.

โ€œAn order of this honourable court, that on the grant of the above orders herein, serve as stay of all proceedings on the direct criminal complaint Omolola Tolulope Akindele sitting at Chief Magistrate Court II, Wuse Zone 6 in the suit of Kenechukwu Okeke Vs Deji Adeyanju and 49 others in suit no. CR/49/2020.

โ€œAn order of this honourable court, that on the grant of the above orders herein, same order as granted by the honourable court shall restrain the Nigeria Police Force, 2nd and 3rd defendants from taking any further steps, arresting and or taking any unconstitutional/illegal steps in the form of any guise as it concerns the subject matters whatsoever before this court herein as it concerns all parties in the proceedings.โ€

Sowore begins ‘hunger strike’ after alleged arrest

Sowore and others were arrested while embarking on a procession to enter the New Year.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has commenced hunger strike in police detention as he rejected all the foods and clothes taken to him by his family.

This was due to the refusal by the police to allow the relatives of the activist who had brought some of his books to him in the custody, give them to him.

Sowore had asked one of his brothers to bring his books for him to read and refresh his mind but he was prevented from taking the books inside.

The action compelled the activist to reject the foods, clothes and other items that were brought for him.

He vowed not to eat any of the foods unless the police allowed him to have access to his books.

He said, โ€œI cannot feed my stomach when I havenโ€™t fed my brain.”

Also his colleagues, who were arrested alongside him, have joined in the hunger strike.

It will be recalled that Sowore had earlier been arrested on August 3, 2019, in Lagos by the Department of State Services, Nigeria’s domestic intelligence agency with a history of repression.

He was moved to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja where he was illegally detained for 144 days despite different court orders for his release.

The DSS accused Sowore of baseless crimes like money laundering. The security agency claimed he was plotting to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari even though it failed to produce evidence to substantiate its claim.

He was subsequently arraigned for treason but had pleaded not guilty. The activist cum journalist was granted bail in November 2020, but part of the conditions restricts him to Abuja.

Deji Adeyanju, popular activist, has reacted to the formation of a new unit to replace the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.

Adeyanju, who is the convener of Concerned Nigerian expressed hope that the police wonโ€™t deploy criminals to man the new unit.

Recall with Noble Reporters Media that the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu had announced the formation of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team to โ€œfill the gapsโ€ arising from the dissolution of SARS.

Rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has undergone both brain and heart scan to ascertain the level of complications and internal injuries he sustained during an attack on him by hired government thugs in Abuja on Monday.

Adeyanju was flown to Dubai, United Arab Emirate, on Tuesday for further medical treatment following the deterioration of his health.

SaharaReporters gathered that the result of the Computed Tomography scan conducted shows that the activist has issues with his heart.

Adeyanju has been placed in an emergency ward while doctors battle to save his life.

Hired government thugs on Monday in Abuja pounced on Adeyanju and other rights activist during a protest tagged #FreedomRally at the National Human Rights Commission Commission to demand for the respect of citizens rights by the Nigerian Government.

In a video of the incident, the hired thugs were seen beating Adeyanju with sticks and all sorts of dangerous weapons as the activist struggled to escape from the scene.

Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to news that Deji Adeyanju has been hospitalized after being injured by participants in a counter protest.

According to reports, the political activist was leading a protest in front of the National Human Rights Commission when participants carrying out a counter protest attacked him. Police officers allegedly witnessed the violence but didn’t intervene.

Reacting to this, former Aviation Minister, FFK wrote: “The brutal attack on Deji Adeyanju @adeyanjudeji this morning is totally unacceptable. This represents a new low by those that are behind it. We hold the Government and their agents responsible and accountable for this wicked act. May God judge those behind it!”
