Lashley was sporting a nasty scar on his chest that looked like a burn mark. In actuality, the scar happened last week when he was cut during his interaction with Seth Rollins. Lashley wrestled with the scar at the live events over the weekend and he defeated Ali tonight on Raw.

Former WWE star teases Raw return.

Advertisements

A former WWE star just dropped a tease on Twitter and it seems to indicate that he’s returning to the company or he’s hoping to get a call to return.

Lio Rush’s time in WWE did not end as he had hoped and there were several reported issues that led to his departure but it looks like he is open to returning to the company. Rush posted a photo on Twitter from his days on the Raw roster when he was in a managerial role with current United States Champion Bobby Lashley.

In June, Rush told Wrestling Inc. that he is open to returning to WWE. He said, “I think situations change, I think values and stocks rise. I think people like money; I think people like to make money and that’s what it ultimately comes down to when it comes to business. So no, I don’t rule anything out.”

Rush was under a WWE contract from 2017 until 2020. He first worked in NXT and 205 Live and he was most prominently featured during his days with Lashley. Rush was released by the company in April 2020 as part of company budget cuts during the height of the pandemic but there were said to be issues from both sides that many feel played a role in his release.

Rush debuted at AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 in the Casino Battle Royale but he then retired from wrestling. He later un-retired and then signed with the company a few months later and was featured on TV until his contract expired earlier this year.

The tweet below indicates that the 27-year-old is definitely not done with pro wrestling and if he gets his way, perhaps he will be back on WWE Raw soon. Now with Triple H running creative, it’s a clean slate in WWE and the door is wide open for ex-talent to return so it’s possible that we’ll see Rush back in WWE in the near future.

Bobby Lashley’s 7-month streak ended with Omos at WrestleMania Backlash.

Advertisements

Bobby Lashley’s seven-month streak came to an end on Sunday night at WWE WrestleMania Backlash when he lost to Omos in a singles match. The finish saw MVP hit his former client with his cane and Omos connected with his finisher for the win. This feud started when the former WWE Champion returned after a short hiatus at WrestleMania 38 to answer the open challenge issued by Omos. Lashley won their first encounter. It marked Omos’ first televised singles loss in WWE.

MVP took issue with his client making his WrestleMania return by himself and turned on Lashley to join forces with Omos.

WrestleMania Backlash marked Lashley’s first pinfall loss at a televised event in seven months as his previous pinfall loss came to Goldberg in a No Holds Barred Falls Count Anywhere match when he dropped the WWE Title in October at Crown Jewel.

This notable streak came after the end of Lashley’s first reign as WWE Champion. He lost the WWE Title for a second time in the Elimination Chamber in February but left the match before he could compete due to an injury angle. Brock Lesnar went on to win that match and the WWE Championship and later lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

The angle was done due to Lashley dealing with a shoulder injury that was believed to keep him out of action for several months, but he healed without getting surgery and he came back quicker than expected.

It should be noted that Lashley has technically lost bouts at televised events since the Goldberg match including Elimination Chamber and at Day 1 in a fatal 5-way bout, but he was never pinned or submitted in those bouts. Excluding those bouts, he holds a 5-1 record while wrestling at televised events in 2022, according to Cagematch

Cody Rhodes slotted internally as number 2 babyface behind Lashley.

Advertisements

It’s clear that WWE is fully behind Cody Rhodes right now as one of the top babyfaces on Monday Night Raw and it appears that he will eventually challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at some point.

Rhodes got his first WWE Raw win in six years last night against The Miz and he is now on the path towards a rematch with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania Backlash.

PWInsider is reporting that internally, Cody Rhodes is slotted as the number two babyface on the brand, second to Bobby Lashley. AJ Styles is listed as the number 3 babyface.

Lashley is currently in a feud with Omos, Rhodes is feuding with Seth Rollins and AJ Styles is involved with Edge and his faction.

On SmackDown, Roman Reigns is obviously listed as the number one heel for SmackDown and the top babyface is Drew McIntyre. Reigns vs. McIntyre is listed for upcoming house shows.

Raw: MVP betrays Bobby Lashley in front of WWE fans.

MVP has a new client and he has turned on Bobby Lashley.

Tonight on WWE Raw, Omos walked out to the ring to set up a rematch with Lashley. MVP then attacked Lashley from the back and Omos continued the attack as MVP yelled as Lashley for not needing him.

Omos left Lashley laying in the ring as MVP celebrated with his new client. This explains why MVP was not seen with Lashley last night at WrestleMania. MVP was originally in the WrestleMania advertising but was removed later in the week.

Omos and Bobby Lashley match “ends in dark for the” Giant.

Bobby Lashley faced Omos at WWE WrestleMania in Dallas. Lashley returned last Monday night on Raw to set up this match.

Omos overpowered Lashley at the start of the match. A clubbing blow to the chest took Lashley down but Lashley no sold and got back up. Omos then attacked Lashley in the corner of the ring. There were some awkward spots because Omos is still green.

Omos sent Lashley over the top rope. Lashley jumped back up and tried a crossbody off the top but Omos caught him and dropped him. Omos locked in a bear hug before driving Lashley into the ring post. He locked in the bear hug again. Lashley fought his way out with punches and a suplex. Lashley speared Omos twice and then pinned him to win the match.

Bobby Lashley returns to set up WrestleMania match.

Advertisements

Bobby Lashley is back and he is booked for WWE WrestleMania 38 in Dallas.

Lashley made his return after Omos squashed The Viking Raiders, Erik and Ivar. The match had a quick and awkward ending because Omos won via countout when Erik failed to make it back in the ring after getting hit with a clothesline. It looked like that was not the finish and Erik may have been injured.

After the match, Lashley walked out to the ring and got manhandled by Omos but Lashley fought back and collided with Omos to take him off his feet. Lashley vs. Omos is scheduled for WrestleMania.

See who’s coming to face Omos at WrestleMania.

Advertisements

A WWE star is returning a lot sooner than expected at WrestleMania and he will be Omos’ opponent.

On Monday Night Raw, Omos kept his undefeated streak in place when he defeated Commander Azeez and Apollo Crews in a handicap match. It was essentially a squash match to put over how much of a giant Omos is.

After the match, Omos said he was ready to face anyone who dared to step in the ring with him at WrestleMania. The segment ended without an opponent announced for him.

Earlier today, WrestleVotes reported that WWE has an opponent in mind for Omos and it would surprise some people. It was noted that the opponent would not be Cody Rhodes (he will wrestle Seth Rollins) or Veer Mahaan (it’s unclear when he will appear on TV).

Fightful Select reported that the mystery opponent for Omos will be Bobby Lashley. Lashley was written off TV after the Elimination Chamber show in February. Lashley has been dealing with a shoulder injury since his match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble and it was not expected that he would be back in time for Mania.

Clearly, he has been training hard to return and it looks like he is healthy enough for the match with Omos in Dallas.
