According to her, “As has been attested to by the good people of Anambra State, service to people, humanity and sharing love and putting smiles on sad faces are my priority in life, and I know that it is the will of God because the Bible says that God is Love.

“Therefore, having witnessed and been positively touched by my ever willing disposition to care for people, empower the poor and needy, especially women and children, particularly widows, orphans and the destitute, my people decided that I should come and serve them better in a higher capacity,” she said.

The former First Lady therefore said that she is willing, ready and has accepted the call by her people to come and service them.

Fielding questions about the incident between her and Bianca, Ebelechukwu said that she has put all of that behind her as a God-fearing person, adding that she remained grateful to God that she resisted and overcame the temptation to retaliate the physical assault meted out on her.

She added that, “As a peaceful person that I am well known for, violence has never been in my character” and so she remained “grateful to several elders, statesmen, friends and associates of the Obianos, as well as countless number of good people of Anambra State who called and expressed their concerns and offered wise counsels and words of comfort after the unfortunate drama”.

In a letter addressed to Governor Soludo titled “A Public Apology”, Mrs Obiano stated that, “Permit me to use this medium to humbly convey to you my sincere, heartfelt and unreserved apology for the unfortunate incident between Mrs Bianca Ojukwu and myself on Thursday, March 17, 2022, the day of your inauguration as the new Executive Governor of Anambra State in which you took over from my husband, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano.

“The incident, to say the least, was most unnecessary, unfortunate and I regret my action. It was an unintended action as violence is never in my character.

“Your Excellency, Sir, I hold your person, your ideals, the records of your great accomplishments in public service in Nigeria and beyond, as well as their concomitant collosal impacts in public policies in highest esteem.

“Without any equivocation, your achievements as a towering intellectual of national and international repute are enduring legacies and pride for the State and Ndigbo in general.

“I will therefore never deliberately engage in any activity or action to disrespect you and your Government.

“All those who know me can testify that before and throughout my eight years as the First Lady of State, I pursued peace, promoted philanthropic gestures which empowered many of our less privileged people. No excuse can therefore be tenable as justification for such public embarrassment, no matter the height of provocation.

“Equally, I wish to extend the same apology to all the important dignitaries, the people of Anambra State, as well as the entire Ndigbo for that unintended embarrassment at the occasion.

“I want to use this opportunity to pledge that I will wholeheartedly support and pray for the Government of His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to excell exceedingly better than the immediate past government, even as he builds on the legacy of his predecessor, my husband, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, and take our dear State to a higher level.

“I consciously chose this medium to express my apology, goodwill, supports and prayers publicly to His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as a token of my full respect for him, his family and the entire Ndigbo”, she stated.

A former Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Victor Umeh, has disclosed why Bianca Ojukwu slapped Ebelechukwu, wife of Willie Obiano, ex-Anambra State governor.

Umeh disclosed that Ebelechukwu verbally attacked Bianca, the wife of late Odumegu-Ojukwu, during the inauguration of Charles Soludo as Governor of Anambra State.

Speaking with Arise TV, Umeh narrated that the verbal attack led to a scuffle between both women.

Umeh disclosed that he had to separate Bianca and the former First Lady to prevent the scuffle from escalating during the event.

On Thursday, a video had surfaced online of Bianca in a fight with the immediate past First Lady.

The scuffle occurred during the swearing-in ceremony of Soludo in Awka yesterday.

Reacting to the incident, Umeh said he had to intervene to prevent Bianca from being harmed.

He said: “From Ambassador Bianca’s narrative, she was correct in her narration of what actually happened because we were all seated in good time for the event.

“The video footage has shown everything to everybody that she left where she was sitting and walked straight to where Ambassador Bianca was sitting calmly and started verbal attacks on her. I was seated away but within a very clear view.

“When the exchange of blows, as I would call it started, I had to rush to that place to restrain them and separate them to ensure that no harm was inflicted on Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu who was seated very calmly for that ceremony.”

Why I slapped Ebelechukwu Obiano: Bianca Ojukwu.

Advertisements

Bianca, the wife of late Odumegwu Ojukwu, has explained why she slapped Ebele Obiano at the inauguration ceremony of Prof. Charles Soludo.

Bianca in an interview with Arise TV on Friday said Ebele Obiano was noticeably absent as the inauguration ceremony started but arrived an hour later.

She said: “I did not pay any attention to her arrival. Surprisingly, she walked towards me and I thought she was coming to greet me. Instead she verbally attacked me with her voice raised, taunting me and asking me what I was there to do, using unprintable, vile language.”

According to her, Obiano’s wife asked if she was at the inauguration to celebrate their last day in office

“I left her but she kept on aggressively putting her hand on my shoulders and shouting.

“While I ignored her verbal onslaught as advised by people sitting around me, I requested twice that she refrains from touching me with her hands. She proceeded to do so yet again and tried to touch my head and remove my headtie.

“It was at that point I stood up to defend myself and gave her a dirty slap to stop her from attacking me. As she made it towards me, I removed her wig, she then held on to her wig with her two hands and tried to take the wig away from me.

Bianca also revealed that while people tried to separate them, she was surprised by the stench of whisky in Ebelechukwu’s breath at such an early hour of the day.

“How could the first lady be so drunk at that time? I stayed back to watch the ceremony till the end and left with my dignity intact,” Bianca said.

Femi Falana dares police to arrest, Bianca Ojukwu and Obiano’s wife.

Legal luminary, Femi Falana says he expects the police to arrest Chukwuebele Obiano and Bianca Ojukwu.

The wife of former Anambra Governor Willie Obiano, and ex-Ambassador to Spain, Bianca Ojukwu fought on Thursday.

The fistfight occurred in Awka at the inauguration of Charles Soludo as Governor.

Falana noted that the police would have taken the duo into custody if they were not prominent citizens.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) insisted that the two women committed an offence.

“The offence of affray occurs when two or more people engage in a fight in public. It is punishable under Section 83 of the Criminal Code.

“The fact that the two VIPs were not arrested has once again confirmed that Nigeria operates two sets of laws, one for the rich and one for the poor.”

Falana said if Ebele and Bianca were commoners, “they would have been arrested, detained, and charged” for disrupting the event.

Stella Oduah reacts as fight burst between Obiano’s wife and Bianca Ojukwu.

Senator Stella Oduah has condemned the former First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, for attacking Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu at Governor Charles Soludo’s inauguration.

Noble Reporters Media had reported that Ebelechukwu allegedly approached Mrs Ojukwu at the front row of the event, where she was seated close to out-gone governor, Chief Willie Obiano.

Ebelechukwu allegedly insulted Mrs Ojukwu and both engaged in a physical combat before they were quickly separated by security operatives.

Reacting, Oduah, a former Aviation Minister, who now represents Anambra North at the National Assembly, said the act exhibited by the former First Lady was indecorous and unbecoming of a woman who had acted as a mother of the state and even desirous of serving.

She tweeted, “My attention has been drawn to the shameful conduct of the wife of the ex-governor and former first lady of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, who threw decorum away and attacked Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu at today’s inauguration ceremony and I hereby condemn in strong terms, this unwarranted attack against the wife of an illustrious son and our very own Ikemba.

“More condemnable is even the gutter and vulgar language used by Mrs Obiano to describe her fellow woman, who is even a widow. I have always held the view that it is only weak minds that label hardworking women like Bianca with nasty names such as “ashawo”

“And it is more unfortunate when a woman, especially one that has been around the corridors of power, is the one hurling such baseless and regretful invectives against her fellow woman.

“What the world witnessed today at the swearing in ceremony is utterly disgraceful, unfortunate Crude and should never be emulated by the millions of our young girls and women who often look up to public figures with respect to how they conduct themselves.

“Only a few days ago, an innocent woman was publicly paraded naked in the same community our former First Lady Hails from and one would have thought that rather than showcase this brute nature of fighting and engaging in public fisticuffs with her guest, she should have exerted same energy and fighting spirit in ensuring that justice is done for that widow.

“It saddens me a great deal To see the wife of an illustrious Anambra son, the pride of Ndigbo and an achiever that was once an ambassador of the Federal Republic, being attacked unprovoked and I join all right thinking persons in praying that we never ever record this type of travesty again in our history.”

While describing Mrs. Obiano’s action as a big insult on the entire Igbo race, the OYC said it would not sit and watch anyone denigrate Ojukwu’s family.

He said, “we were shock-stricken to watch the trending video of an unprovoked attack on the wife of Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu by Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano.

“To say the least, this is the height of insult and embarrassment on the entire Igbo race, bearing in mind what the Ojukwu family represents for the entire Igboland.

“Consequently, we are charging the Obiano family to immediately offer an unreserved apology to the Igbo race or face dire consequences. They have an ultimatum to apologize for that barbaric action or have the entire Igbo youths to contend with.

“Having said this, I appeal to the Igbo youths, including Biafra agitators who are so provoked by Mrs. Obiano’s action, to calm down while we wait for the family to do the needful.”

Okwu, however, hailed Mrs. Ojukwu for disciplining Obiano’s wife, stressing that, “we are happy that Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu was able to instill discipline on Mrs. Obiano since she did not get common training from her parents and the husband.”

“As the wife of a warlord, Mrs. Ojukwu couldn’t have done anything less; we are so proud of her and we know that the training she gave to Mrs. Obiano will linger in her memory for several years,” Okwu further stated.

He used the opportunity to congratulate Prof. Soludo on his swearing-in, urging him to set the ball rolling and restore the pride of Anambra State.

“We are so confident that a new Anambra beckons; we are optimistic that the glory days of Anambra State are back,” the youth leader said.
