Juventus President Andrea Agnelli Discusses Rumoured Interest in Man City Manager Pep Guardiola

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli says he would be interested in appointing Pep Guardiola as the head coach in Turin – but he’s adamant a deal wouldn’t be possible to lure the 49-year-old away from Manchester City.

Chelsea vs Bayern: See what lampard said

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard says The Blues have a lot to learn from Tottenham’s 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich as his side prepares to face the German champions in the Champions League last 16.

Chelsea lock horns with Bayern for the first leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, just under five months on from Spurs’ heavy defeat in the group stage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When asked about the Spurs-Bayern match and if it would impact his preparations for the upcoming fixture, Lampard said: “Definitely – that’s a big part of my job.”

When quizzed on how he would balance chasing the game if Bayern go ahead, with the fixture being played over two legs, he added:

“We have players with Champions League experience but we’ve also got some younger players who are in the early stages of their careers.

“They have to understand about the levels, going up, the mindset levels. A big part of my job tomorrow is to explain to the players that over two legs we need to be at our maximum.

“We must make sure every box is ticked in both games. We have to make sure we don’t get caught up during in-game moments.

“There will be times when we suffer because Bayern are an incredible side with the ball but that’s our job over the next two games.”

Real madrid unsure if Hazard need surgery

Real Madrid are meeting with numerous medical professionals for advice on how to proceed with winger Eden Hazard’s latest injury,

The Belgian missed 83 days of action after fracturing his right fibula, but he managed just two games before aggravating the injury, and it has now been suggested that his season could be over after suffering the same issue again.

As noted by Marca, Real are eager to ensure that Hazard does not suffer another relapse when he eventually returns, so they are regularly speaking with doctors to determine whether or not to operate on the winger.

One of those who will be asked for advice is Dr James Calder, who operated on Hazard when he suffered a similar injury during his time with Chelsea back in 2017.

At the moment, it is believed that the option to send Hazard for surgery is winning. Specialists have suggested that Hazard’s fibula needs to be examined directly to determine whether there is something wrong with it, given this is his third injury in three years.

Several meetings will be held this week, with Hazard invited to attend and give his opinion, and Real are eager to make a decision which will benefit everyone in the long run.

Understandably, Hazard wants to be fit in time to feature at Euro 2020 with Belgium, and club officials are bearing that in mind. Fortunately, it is thought that he will be ready for this summer regardless of which route his recovery takes.

However, he will not be available for Real for several months, meaning his frustrating debut season in Madrid could have come to an abrupt end.

Hazard has managed just 15 appearances for Real this season, registering just one goal and five assists in all competitions, which is certainly not what Los Blancos expected when they parted with an initial €100m to sign him last summer.

In his place, Zinedine Zidane can still call upon the likes of Vinícius Júnior, Lucas Vázquez and Gareth Bale as they look to topple Barcelona and lift another La Liga title.

Pogba admit Liverpool deserves EPL title

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has confessed that Liverpool deserve every bit of their success this season as they are simply far too good for the rest of the Premier League.

The Reds currently sit 22 points clear at the top of the league table and are now just 12 points away from lifting the title thanks to Monday’s 3-2 win over West Ham United, while United find themselves a whopping 38 points behind in fifth.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have received plenty of praise this year, and Pogba told ESPN that they deserve every bit of that, even if it hurts him as a United player.

“They are so way ahead of everyone else,” he confessed. “They have not lost a single game yet this season in the league. They already have one hand on the Premier League trophy.

“As a Manchester United player and with the rivalry between us, we don’t want them to win the title. We don’t want anyone else to win apart from us, but as a football lover and a respectful player to opposition team, I have to say that they deserve to be where they are today.

“They have been even better than last season when they won the Champions League and the season before when they [lost the final to Real Madrid].”

The rivalry between Liverpool and United goes way back, but the Red Devils always had the edge in the Premier League era. However, while United still have more league titles in the trophy cabinet, the power has certainly shifted over to Merseyside in recent years.

Things have been good for Liverpool this year, but the same cannot be said for Pogba, who has been plagued by an ankle injury all year.

He has managed just eight appearances in all competitions, with his only two assists coming in the first game of the season against Chelsea, and it is currently unknown when he will be ready to make his return to action.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently revealed that Pogba is ‘nowhere near’ being ready to return to training, with the Frenchman seemingly still struggling after undergoing surgery.

Update: Deontay Wilder Get 6 Weeks Suspension After Defeat From Fury

Deontay Wilder has been handed a six-week medical suspension following his defeat by Tyson Fury.
The American was dropped twice by his challenger last Saturday before the fight was stopped in the seventh round when his corner threw in the towel.

Wilder was suspected to have burst his eardrum and was set to be taken to hospital but he ultimately needed just seven stitches for a cut in his ear.
And the Nevada State Athletic Commission have now said Wilder cannot spar until April 8 and cannot fight in the state until April 23.

That will not prevent him triggering the rematch clause in his contract for third fight with Fury, NobleSport gathered
The loser of last weekend’s bout had 30 days to do so and Wilder confirmed on Monday that he will seek his revenge.

“The rematch is definitely going to happen. We’re going to get it on. I want to get right back to it,” he said.
The trilogy fight was was due to take place on July 18 in Las Vegas but Fury’s promoter Bob Arum has said it could be pushed back until September or October and be held at the new Las Vegas Raiders’ stadium.

That could see a potential undisputed fight with Anthony Joshua delayed until 2021 after promoter Eddie Hearn said he wanted to make that fight this year.
Joshua is due to face mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20.

Wilder, meanwhile, has blamed his 40lb ring walk costume for weakening his legs before losing to Fury.
He told Yahoo: “He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that my uniform was way too heavy for me.
“I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.

“But I’m a warrior and people know that I’m a warrior. It could easily be told that I didn’t have legs or anything.
“A lot of people were telling me, ‘It looked like something was wrong with you.’ Something was, but when you’re in the ring, you have to bluff a lot of things.”

How Iheanacho Feels After Punch From Ederson

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he replaced Kelechi Iheanacho in the Foxes 1-0 loss to the Manchester City on Saturday because he felt “groggy” after he suffered a reckless challenge from the Citizens goalkeeper Ederson.

Iheanacho was wiped out by Ederson five minutes before half-time in the defeat and despite appeals for a penalty calls only a corner was given.

The 23-year-old returned to the pitch after treatment, but he was substituted at the break on the advice of the club medical staff.

“It was the reason he (Iheanacho) had to come off,” Rodgers told Leicester Mercury.

“I haven’t seen it again, I haven’t seen a replay of it, but the guys are telling me he got caught on the throat.

“It was a lovely ball by James (Maddison) and he’s getting there.

“Iheanacho felt a bit groggy at half-time, and I always listen to the medical staff on that. They felt it would be hard for him to continue at the level, so Harvey (Barnes) came on and gave us that penetration.”

Messi Greater Than Diego Maradona – Gattuso Confess

do you support this?

Lionel Messi is the “greatest” footballer of all time, ahead of even Diego Maradona, Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso said on Monday ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.

The 32-year-old Messi scored four goals at the weekend in Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Eibar and has now been involved in more than 1,000 goals in his career, scoring 696 and assisting another 306.

Gattuso was quick to praise Messi, comparing the Barca star to Napoli legend Maradona.

“He’s the greatest and an example for everyone,” said Gattuso ahead of the sides’ last-16 first leg on Tuesday.

“He never says anything inappropriate. He does things that only exist on the Playstation, unthinkable things.

“But I saw him (Maradona) on VHS or DVD. I never saw him up close, at a stadium.

“I know the champion he was and I know I missed something wonderful. I regret it. Today I see Messi doing things that Maradona was doing.”

Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne was not so keen to accept that Messi has reached greater heights than 1986 World Cup winner Maradona.

“Messi is the best in the world today,” said Insigne. “But for us Neapolitans, Maradona is everything and I don’t want to compare them. Maradona is sacred.”

But Insigne and Gattuso agreed that their team have to be careful not to focus only on trying to stop Messi.

“We have to be careful with their whole team because it’s not just Messi,” said Gattuso.

Napoli are enjoying a recent upturn in form after a dreadful start to the Serie A season which culminated in the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti following a 4-0 win over Genk that sent them into the Champions League knockout stage.

Last season’s Serie A runners-up have won six of their last seven games.

“Tomorrow (Tuesday), I want a Napoli side that are not afraid,” added Gattuso.

“I want to see a team that knows how to battle… You need to stand up to Barcelona — you can’t worry.

“I want to see a lively team that plays with joy until the end. Can Napoli win the Champions League? Never say never.”

It is the first time Napoli have reached the knockout rounds since a last-16 loss to Real Madrid in 2017, while Barcelona are bidding to make the quarter-finals for a 13th consecutive season.

COVID-19: Messi, Others Set To Undergo Test Ahead UCL Match Against Napoli

Barcelona superstars including Lionel Messi are expected to be tested for deadly coronavirus ahead of their Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Napoli in Italy.

According to ESPN, Barcelona will face strict tests when they enter and leave the country for their visit to Naples as per a memo sent to them by the Italian government.

The Barcelona squad, who are travelling to the south of Italy on Monday, will go through a temperature screening control on arrival at Napoli-Capodichino airport.

The publication added that if any of the travelling party is found to have a high temperature or fever they will be taken straight to the hospital for tests in line with the Disease Prevention and Control protocol.

The coronavirus which broke out from Wuhan in China has affected more than 80 people in Italy with two people killed so far.

My Son Thinks Of Retiring After Defeating Wilder – Tyson’s Father Speaks

Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, has revealed that he has told the new WBC champion to retire following his victory over Deontay Wilder and claims the Gypsy King is considering doing so.

John Fury, a former Heavyweight boxer says he will like his son to walk away from the sport now that he has achieved greatness as talk has already turned to a potential unification fight with Anthony Joshua, even though Wilder can trigger a trilogy fight.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning, he said: ‘I want my son to retire now. He’s done enough to prove.

‘It’s been an uphill battle for him. He’s done enough. I want him to pack it in now. ‘I think it’s in the back of his mind. He can’t do anymore. Enough is enough. He’s given all.’

‘I’ll be honest, I’m sat here today and I still keep pinching myself because where he was two years ago there was no hope, basically. ‘He was that low, he went that far back, I didn’t think he was ever going to get back. A light switch just went on and off and here we are today.

But I just think myself there’s more to life than we see with the eye, there’s got to be, because he was in such a mess. ‘It was a dark time, when you see a man who was like drinking himself to death to escape reality, and he was eating all kinds of food and a bucket load. And he was doing it in front of you. When your son stops caring what you think as a father and a parent, that’s time to worry.’

Aubameyang Is Going No Where – Mikel Arteta

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta is working on convincing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at the club after he scored twice to help the Gunners to a 3-2 win over Everton.

Aubameyang now has 19 goals this season and 60 in 95 games for the London club.

It has been reported that he wants to play in the Champions League next season and has been linked with a move.

“Before I took over I had my questions about him but he has shown his commitment,” said Arteta.

“I wanted him to show if he wanted to do it and do it physically.

“I’m so happy with him. He is scoring important goals and as a captain he is giving a great example to everyone else with the way he is working defensively.”

He has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona, who reportedly tried to sign him in January.

“They are completely right to want him because he is a superb player,” continued Arteta. “It’s right that big teams like him. Hopefully we can convince him this is right place to be.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

“I think it’s been tough for him because he has big expectations. He wants to play in the biggest competitions and with the best players. We have to help him do that. He needs to feel fulfilled.

“He is our most important player, no doubt the impact he has in this team. We will have to convince him to stay with us.”
