WWE has filed trademarks for the new ring names of two new SmackDown stars – Ludwig Kaiser, formerly known as Marcel Barthel, and Raquel Rodriguez, formerly known as Raquel Gonzalez.
The company filed for “Ludwig Kaiser,” and “Raquel Rodriguez” on April 9th under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Here is the description:
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
WWE called up Gunther, formerly known as WALTER, to the main roster alongside Kaiser on last Friday’s episode of SmackDown where the former NXT UK Champion beat Joe Alonzo, a local wrestler, in a squash match.
On this same show, Raquel was also called up and appeared in a backstage segment Los Lotharios walked in and tried to get a kiss out of her but she declined. She had just lost the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Dakota Kai to Toxic Attraction on Tuesday’s NXT 2.0 episode.
