Ronda Rousey asks why WWE says ‘women’ when referring to SmackDown Championship

WWE continued the Ronda Rousey-Charlotte Flair storyline tonight on Friday Night SmackDown but this week there was no physicality.

Charlotte Flair appeared on the Titan Tron from a movie set and both women talked about how they were going to walk out of WrestleMania as the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Rousey was trying to recite her scripted lines and she flubbed for a second as she was trying to say SmackDown Women’s Champion. At one point Rousey said, “you can call me your new Women’s SmackDown Champion. SmackDown Women’s Champion? Why do we even say ‘women’ in it anyway? You can call me the SmackDown Champion!”

That appeared to be an ad lib from Rousey but she made a good point because the Men’s titles are not referred to as the “Men’s Championship” but WWE makes the distinction with all of the women’s titles.

Next Friday is the go-home SmackDown before WrestleMania so presumably, we’ll see some physicality between Rousey and Flair before their WrestleMania Saturday match.
