Ebonyi State Governor Relax Lockdown, Lift Okada Ban. [Nigeria]

Ebonyi State Governor Chief Dave Nweze Umahi, on Tuesday, has lifted the ban on Commercial motorcycle operation popularly known as Okada, and also relaxed the curfew imposed on the state between 7pm and 7am.

Governor Umahi made the announcement during a statewide broadcast on the update of preventive measures taken by the State government to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The Governor stated that the lifting of the ban on Okada operation and the relaxing on the curfew followed the level of corporation by citizens of the state and announced that the ban still continues within 300 meters away from the different boundaries in the state.

Umahi maintained that the ban on Religious activities and shutdown of drinking joints in that state continues adding that the World Health Organization (WHO) stipulates that opening on drinking joints exposes the people to dangers of contracting the virus.
