John Cena has confirmed he will be at WrestleMania 36 later this year in Tampa.
Cena took a step back from WWE last year in order to focus on other projects, and it ended up being his first year in the past 17 years that he hadn’t worked a match on any pay-per-view.
He did make appearances throughout the year, most notably appearing at WrestleMania 35 in a spot with Elias, but he never had a match.
During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the 16-time world champion spoke about his future in WWE, where he said he will be at WrestleMania 36 on April 5.
He said: โPerforming at WrestleMania this year would be a gift. I haven’t been intertwined in the machine of the WWE. I know those WrestleMania spots are few and far between. I’ve expressed that I’m off. But I’ve also expressed that I live in Tampa.
โI will for sure be at the event and I have great trust in the process and I have great faith in Vince McMahon not only as a boss, but as so much more than that. As a friend, as a men wwe.
